Acceptable Use Policy

What you can and cannot do with Cashat. This policy keeps our network safe for honest customers, agents and merchants.

Last updated · 1 June 2026

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) describes activities that are prohibited on the Cashat platform. It supplements our Terms of Service and applies to every consumer, agent, merchant and developer that uses our products or APIs.

2. Prohibited activities

You must not use the Services to:

  • Violate any law, regulation, court order or sanctions regime.
  • Launder the proceeds of crime, finance terrorism or proliferation, or evade sanctions.
  • Defraud any person or entity, including phishing, account-takeover, identity theft or social-engineering scams.
  • Sell or facilitate the sale of illegal drugs, unlicensed pharmaceuticals, weapons, ammunition, stolen goods, or counterfeit currency or documents.
  • Operate unlicensed gambling, betting or lottery services.
  • Distribute child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that incites violence, terrorism or unlawful discrimination.
  • Sell wildlife, ivory or any product whose trade is prohibited under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).
  • Run pyramid, Ponzi, multi-level-marketing or get-rich-quick schemes.
  • Process payments on behalf of another business without our prior written approval ("factoring" or "transaction laundering").
  • Probe, scan, attack or otherwise interfere with the security or integrity of the Services or our partners' systems.

3. Restricted activities

Certain activities are permitted only with our prior written approval and additional due diligence. These include high-risk financial services, virtual-asset trading, dating and adult content, firearms accessories, alcohol, tobacco, money services bureaux, and any business operating cross-border in sanctioned-adjacent jurisdictions.

4. Reporting violations

Suspected violations of this AUP can be reported to abuse@cashat.africa. We investigate every credible report and may suspend or terminate accounts, freeze funds pending investigation, and report to law enforcement as appropriate.

5. Consequences

Breaching this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account, reversal of related transactions, withholding of settlement funds, and reporting to regulators and law enforcement. Cashat is not liable for losses incurred by users who breach this AUP.
